The Biblical Leadership Show

From Romans To Real Life: Finding Your One Thing

Tim Lansford and Dr. Dean Posey Season 5 Episode 104

Send us a text

A new year deserves more than a crowded resolution list; it calls for a sharper why. We kick off 2026 with laughter, real stories, and a grounded plan to focus your energy where it counts. Starting a fresh journey through Romans, we explore how purpose, practice, and perspective turn good intentions into durable habits that lead to growth at home, at work, and in faith.

We dive into Romans 1:16 to uncover a leader’s north star and show how a clear why simplifies hard choices. You’ll hear candid takes on perfectionism and procrastination, plus practical ways to replace stalled projects with steady progress. From swimming splits to guitar drills, we highlight how small, focused reps beat lofty promises every time. We also tackle filters—the mental lens that frames problems as dead-ends or as puzzles worth solving—and explain why acknowledging the negative without letting it steer the ship changes outcomes.

The conversation deepens with Romans 2, Romans 7, and Romans 8. We discuss integrity and consistency, the inner tug-of-war between intention and action, and the freedom that comes from identity and adoption in Christ. Along the way, we connect biblical wisdom to leadership skill: better hiring, cleaner reviews, steadier responses under pressure, and a culture that grows stronger through trust and hope. It’s a practical, human guide to starting the year with clarity and finishing it with momentum.

If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend who’s setting goals, and leave a quick review so others can find us. Then tell us: what’s your one focus for 2026—and why?

SPEAKER_00:

Oh now, yeah. All righty, welcome, welcome, welcome. Hey, Tim. Two thousand twenty-six. My goodness. Two thousand twenty-six. Can you believe it? Yes. And you know, it just seems like two thousand twenty-five just was just the other day.

SPEAKER_03:

Just the other day. Just just around the bin.

SPEAKER_00:

Around the bin, like last week. My goodness. Well, how have you been?

SPEAKER_03:

Oh man, I've been good. Good. Family's good. Family's good. Back in the studio. Back in the studio. We had a little reprieve there. We we all did some traveling. I went to uh sunny Hawaii. I went to Conroe, Texas. Conroe, Texas.

SPEAKER_02:

It was sunny and it was warm down there.

SPEAKER_01:

It was.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh my goodness. Best thing on Christmas Day. It was like 80 degrees in Conroe, Texas. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Well, it was good. It was really good. That's cool. So we had a great, we had a very unique and amazing Christmas.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. Yeah. Well, I had my norm. I like Hawaii and and uh had fun sitting on the beach and and uh well really wouldn't even say I said at the pool probably more because my kids they had a water slide at the pool. Oh, that's it. That will send kids in when you see a water slide. Yes, that's the truth.

SPEAKER_01:

And like I told you before we started, uh if you go to Hawaii and you have a bad time, it's not Hawaii's fault. No, it is not Hawaii's fault.

SPEAKER_03:

So it's exactly sit in the room and have a good time. You can. I told some of my clients, I'm like, I'll be working at just better scenery. Welcome to reach out. Don't feel like you can, but I'll just be looking at palm trees and oceans. Yes, and hearing the waves. So that's a much better thing.

SPEAKER_00:

So well, today's podcast 104. 104. Wow.

SPEAKER_01:

We are just rocking.

SPEAKER_03:

We are rocking.

SPEAKER_01:

That's just fantastic. Starting a new year, podcast 104. We're gonna start the book of Romans. So, those of you who are catching us for the very first time, I'm sitting across the table from uh Tim Lansford. I am Dr. Dean Posey. And um Tim has been a custom home builder for like 30 years. I'm a retired pastor after 45 years. And um we just excited uh to be here. And I'll just let Tim kind of give a synopsis of what our our podcast is all about.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, what we attempt to do most of the time is laugh a lot. Is we have a ja a show about dad jokes where we talk about biblical and leadership. Yes, right there.

SPEAKER_01:

Speaking of dad jokes, oh boy, oh boy, what do you call a moose that has no name? Um Anonymous.

SPEAKER_03:

All right. But yeah, that's what we actually do. It's called Biblical Leadership Show because we take biblical passages and uh we go through we're still going through the chapters of the Bible, and uh when we go through some of us take us uh you know one day to get through, some of us take us many months to get through, depending on where we're at. Uh we've rolled into uh the New Testament. We started way back at the very beginning in Genesis, and and it's been our mission. So we take a lot of the passages, the chapters of the Bible, and and convert them into uh what we talked about in the Bible, and we convert them into real life, what you can do to live these principles and uh make yourself better in as far as leadership and some of the different things.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, and you might be thinking, if you're here for the first time, um, that you think, well, I'm I'm just you know, I'm just a electrician, I'm I'm just uh, you know, whatever. I'm a school teacher, I'm not a leader.

SPEAKER_03:

Right.

SPEAKER_01:

Um, well, maybe you have a family that you're leading, maybe you're on a softball team, maybe you're on an archery team. I mean, right before the show, we were doing some axe throwing. Anyway, guys, so much fun.

SPEAKER_03:

We just did some axe throwing here in the studio. I brought my uh one of my I got like a little uh indoor axe throwing indoor axe throwing thing. I brought it to the studio here, so we were doing axe throwing right before fun. We've talked about going to true axe throwing forever, and I finally I'm gonna bring this up and and uh have some fun. So we we were having a joyous time. So we're supposed to be.

SPEAKER_01:

You might not think you're a leader in like the head of the company or whatever, but what about leading yourself? Right. Okay, and we've got some principles today. We're starting on the book of Romans, um, and uh one of the most amazing passages in the entire Bible is Romans 116. We'll get to that in just a minute. Um, but uh I'll share something that just happened today before I came to the studio um on one principle that I am trying to focus on. It's not a necessarily a New Year's resolution, but it is something that I want to focus on. And and we're gonna talk about uh filters, we're gonna talk about priorities, um, all from the book of Romans, and then hopefully we can help you see how those apply to your life. Uh, whether you're a company leader of 500 people or you're just your own person, you know, and you have a company of one, um, how can you be better at what you do? So that's what we're about, Biblical Leadership Show.com. Yeah. We love to get your feedback. And as you already can guess, if you if you want to send us some good dad jokes, just please, please do that.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, if you want to go listen back and listen to past episodes too, we want to preface this by every New Year's Eve. We do pretty much a 97% dad joke show because we pre-record it, we have fun in the studio. So if you're gonna listen to this one for the first time and you're gonna go back one, go back a few, right?

SPEAKER_02:

Go, oh my gosh. What is this? What is this about?

SPEAKER_03:

You know, so we always preface it to the people going into New Year's. If you don't like our dad jokes segment of this, well, you probably shouldn't listen to the New Year's Eve show because it's pretty much all dad.

SPEAKER_01:

It's all dad jokes. And and we had a few of those too, uh the Christmas show, you know, on the 23rd. So that was a lot of fun. So speaking of dad jokes, no boy. Uh why did the remote feel useless?

SPEAKER_03:

Hmm.

SPEAKER_00:

Uh because it lost control. Oh, nice.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, and speaking of lost oh my gosh. Speaking of losing control, sometimes we feel like we've just lost control of our company, our life, you know, or whatever. Yes, whatever. And so we're gonna hopefully give you some help today that will help you kind of get the new year off to a start. Right. Uh, you might not make new year's resolutions, but the question would be um, what do you what's the one thing you want to work on this year? Not just not 20. Don't give me 20, don't give me five, one thing. And um, we're gonna start out um by talking about focus. Um, because um just just because of some things that have happened in our life over the last couple of weeks, it made me think, what is my focus? Uh when I look at something or the the lens that I look through, do I look as it as a positive person? Do I look through the lens of a negative person? When I see something, am I focusing on the positive or I'm focusing on the negative? I don't mean to ignore the negative, right? But I really try to focus on the positive or the potential of something. Um, and instead of thinking, oh, that's not gonna work. And and so maybe as you begin this year, whatever you're doing, uh maybe you just need to do an honest evaluation of what is your focus, you know. What do you focus on when you look at a person, when you look at a problem, when you look at a situation, when you look at a new contract, when you look at your financial situation, what is your focus? You're thinking, oh, this is not good, or you know what, this m we might have some issues, but I see real potential here. And so um that to me would be a very first good step at beginning the year is to be honest with yourself um as to what your focus is. And I'll and we'll get to why that's so important in the Bible in just a minute. So uh anyway, any any comments about that, Tim?

SPEAKER_03:

No, I mean that's this is the time of year, and like I say, I always tell my clients you don't have to wait to the first of the year to set in resolutions or do something different. And and you know, like you said, we're we're gonna focus on what's that one thing that you can do better, you know. Uh for me personal, uh personally, is uh I we've talked about it, you know, in pre-show prep and uh, you know, procrastination. It's not that I'm a major procrastinator, it's it's there's a lot of things I procrastinate on because I don't feel they're perfect. I don't feel like they're they're they're ready to release to the public and all these things from from from everything I do and speeches and podcasts and and and books and all this stuff, and and I'm gonna get better about that this year, and I'm gonna take more of the bull by the horns and and not wait and get it done. So I don't have to be perfect, it'll develop over time. And that's my biggest thing that I'm working on this year is uh to to make things happen and and stop the procrastination for you know the perfection.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, that's good. And so the challenge would be what is your one thing? So I'll tell you, just before I came to the um uh the studio today, um, I started a swimming class. Uh if you don't know a little bit about me, after I retired, I got into the sport of terathloning. And uh crazy. It's crazy, but I love it. Um I've I've been a runner for a long time, I've cycled for a long time, but swimming was something that I was really never good at, even as a kid. Um, and I I can do that, but I'm really slow, my form's not good. So I thought, you know what? I need to work on that one thing. I I know it it takes a long time to get better, and I'm never gonna be an Olympican, I'm never gonna be fast, but I don't want to get out of the water in a trial line tired or my form's bad, or so I hurt myself. And so um I joined a master swimming class. Today was my first class. Um, and it's down at the Texas Wesleyan uh pool. Um, and uh we meet three times a week. You can I can meet five times a week if I wanted to, but uh I don't want to get up at 5 30 in the morning for that. Um but but uh we meet uh Monday, Wednesday, Friday at nine o'clock to 10, and um and it really helps me work on my form and my you know how I swim. And and uh I'm thinking if I can just do that one thing, I know it's gonna take months to get better, but if I can just work on that one thing, then to me that's gonna be a huge improvement in my overall physical health. And so that's the goal. Uh, that's for me, is one of my goals for the year is to just get better at swimming, you know. And um, my time right now, those of you who are swimmers, I'm really slow, and it's about two minutes 24 seconds for a hundred meters. I'm gonna get down to right at two minutes. That would be my goal for the year. And if I can do that, I I think that would be a huge accomplishment. Um and so that's my focus, you know, and everybody has a focus about something. I'm gonna tell you about Paul's focus. I think if you took uh all of Paul's writing, the apostle Paul's writings, which you know, he wrote a lot of the New Testament, and you summarized it into one sentence, it would be Romans 1.16. And this is what we read from Romans 1.16. Paul said this for I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Okay. I think if you look at his entire life, that just describes his entire life. It try describes his passion, it describes the reason he was willing to suffer, willing to sacrifice, all the kind of stuff, because he was not ashamed. His his first focus, his first priority, his first agenda was sharing the gospel. And uh he wasn't ashamed of that. That was the way he looked at life. He looked at a person to say, do they know Christ? Um, if not, how can I best share the gospel with them? Do I do it with my actions? Do I do it with my words? Do I do it with both? And so my question would be what is your one sentence that would describe your focus for this year? Maybe, maybe not a sentence, maybe it might be one word, well, two words.

SPEAKER_03:

One of the things I did on my show prep is m you declare what's your why. You know, because Paul, that's his why.

SPEAKER_01:

That's his why. Excellent point. Yeah. So what's your why? You know, you might be a plumber, you might be a teacher, but what's the why behind that? I think you okay, a lot of us can tell us the what, right? Right. What we do. The question is, why are we doing it? And if you can define that, then that's huge. That is really huge.

SPEAKER_03:

And if you never watched the video on Simon Sinek, go out and watch the power of why or read his book, and it really will reframe how you think about business. It'll think about how you interact in in life. Um, but yeah, it's it's a great video. Uh, I think it's about 18 minutes long, is what the one that's posted up. It's common. Um, but he's got a book, Power of Why Too. It's a that's a great one to look at um and determine your why. And and most people that are successful in most businesses, they know their why, and that they build the company around the why. Um that's where you get buy-in, you get the uh uh the leadership buy-in when you when you know your why.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes. And so that's a great thing. Is like maybe you've just been doing the same thing for years, um, and you know why, and you're really good at it. Whatever that is, you're just really good at it. But you've really lost, why am I doing this? You know. Um, and so maybe you can start the year thinking, okay, uh, what is the why? Is there a different why than when I started out 20 years ago or five years ago? Um and and I think that's a very good ex a time to look in the mirror, think about what's my why for the year. Um and then think about okay, um, do I need to change my why? Or do I need to just uh think, no, this is this is still the why. This is why I'm doing what I'm doing. I still focus on that, you know, and um that's gonna be my focus for the year. So that this would be my question going back to my swimming. Okay, I've been doing things now for about three years. Um and um I really enjoy it. Um, but I I realize that there's that one area, there's lots of areas, but that one area I want to focus on this year is my swimming. And so the question for you as a as a leader, whether it's just leading your family, leading a business, leading a softball team, leading a scouting troupe, or whatever, the question is what's the one thing you want to focus on to get better at? Okay. Um so many people, you know, the first of the year, they make all these New Year's resolutions. Uh, like you said, you know, everybody joins the gym and then February 1st everyone stops going. Yep. Um, but but um uh some reasons they do that is because they make so many resolutions that they can't keep them all or they don't remember them.

SPEAKER_03:

Um or they don't take baby steps sometimes, too.

SPEAKER_01:

Yes, they try to do it all. It's like, you know, me trying to be Mark Spitz within one day. You know, it's like, no, I want to take a year, I want to be honest with myself, take a year. You can put realistic goals out there too, you know, and say, okay, if I can get reduced my time by two or three seconds a month, I'm doing really, really good. Okay. And and so my question to you is okay, if you have a goal, one just put focus on one and make baby steps, do very short. I can tell you, in a year from now, um you're gonna you're gonna look back and go, wow, because I had one focus. I didn't have ten. I wasn't trying to do ten different things, I was doing one thing, and I I did it extremely well. Okay. Um I'll take another example. I'm I'm uh with some guys on Monday night. I play guitar and one guy play, I play acoustic guitar, and one guy plays bass, one guy plays uh he plays acoustic and then he plays steel guitar and the piano, and uh we just have fun playing songs and stuff. But I was having trouble going from a D chord to an F sharp minor chord, and I my fingers were just not working. And so the other day I literally spent an hour, just about an hour, going back and forth from a D chord to an F-sharp minor chord, and and it's like uh after I did that for probably a hundred and something times, it finally just clicked, you know. But I took the time to focus on that one thing. So I'm I just encourage you. Whatever your one thing is.

SPEAKER_03:

I got one thing for you to focus on. We you don't have to do it today. Okay, because we're gonna have to do some ass throwing right after this. But right there beside you is a guitar that has a busted cord, and the chords are laying right there on the thing. So we're we're gonna have you change those out because you know I know you can, and you're going to probably next next next week in the studio, right? So yeah, okay, we can do that.

SPEAKER_02:

Um, but it's throwing today.

SPEAKER_01:

I need to really work on that. Oh, I got slaughtered in X throwing. Anyway. Um, so what's your one thing? And here's the question. Not what is it do you want to change? That's important. Why do you want to change it? Why do you want to change it? Um, you know, what is your focus? What is your the filter that you look through? Maybe you want to change your filter. Um and um and so that that's uh that's a really good question.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, and and going on that, you know, in Romans 2, Paul, one of the things he does is he warns those who judge others but commit the same sins. And it's sort of like, you know, we we talk about, you know, what's what's your filter? Are you pointing the finger at the other person, but it's really the three fingers pointing at you uh that that that you do? You don't you don't have that integrity. Uh, you know, uh you as a leader, you have to sort of practice what you preach, you know. And and we were big before the show. We start talking about negative and negativity and all that stuff. And and for us, negativity is like one of the worst things. I I can't be around people that are negative. It's just I try to uh help them, but at some point they're just gonna be filtered out of my life because I I don't like negative. I figure I every day is a a bonus, every day is uh a day you wake up and you take a breath, it's a great day and and make the most of it. And and I I I'm not that negative guy, you know, and uh I try to stay on the positive and and live my life like that.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, but uh the thing of that's we gotta be say, and and I've seen this, is that you acknowledge the negative, yes, you just don't focus on the negative. So if you're building a a home, which you've built now for thirty years, you know, building ho all these homes around Dallas Fort Worth, and you're really good at it, and there's an issue, it's not that you ignore the issue, you think, okay, what is the best way to solve this problem? Okay. Or this issue. Or maybe it's a supply issue. Or maybe one of your contractors quit or got sick and you have a house that's got half the wiring done and you need something else to do. It's not that you just start going off and getting upset. And it's like, no, we've got an issue here. We got to solve it. So you think about you, you think about the negative, but you don't let the negative drive be the rudder of your ship. Right. Okay. And so I think that's uh I think so important is what's driving our ship. What's the rudder of our ship? You know? And for Paul, it was advancing the gospel. Yes. You know, um, that was his passion, that was his focus, that was his life mission. And um, for those of us who are who have chosen to be Christians, being being Jesus followers, I think that should be part of our mission too, to live a life worthy of Christ and so that others are drawn to him. A lot of the times we do that with our actions and our words, not just, you know, by evangelizing on a corner, but living our life, being a blessing to others. Um, and uh, and so, you know, um those things will pay off over time because the more you do it, the more it becomes a habit in your life, just like the focus, just like your rudder. If your rudder is negativity, you're always gonna see negativity. You know, if your rudder is something positive, then you're gonna see the positive in the midst of a negative situation. Yeah. I like it. So we're going on from Romans, now then we go to Romans 4, and uh that's he talks about Abraham. Now, Abraham, uh people that might not even be familiar with the Bible might be familiar with Abraham. We read his story beginning with Genesis chapter 12. Genesis, if you're not familiar, is the first book of the Bible. So God called Abraham out from where he was, you know, in one part of the world to go to Israel, um, and that became the land for the Jewish people. And he held him up as an example of faith and faithfulness, uh, and God's faithfulness to him. And so thinking about that, um, maybe, you know, you've seen people, kids with posters in their, in their rooms with rock stars and they want to be a rock star, or me, you know, they Bruce Lee, because they want to be a great karate person or whatever it may be. And and uh maybe it's like, okay, who was really good at leadership? Okay. I've read an incredible book, Lincoln on Leadership. That was just phenomenal. You know, Stephen Covey, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. There's some classic book, good to great. I mean, there's some really good books. Um, there's some, there's so many podcasts out there now on leadership, but it's like focus on one thing. Like, okay, how can I be better as a leader in evaluating, doing quarterly evaluations or your half-year evaluation or whatever it is. Maybe I need to do be better at interviewing potential employees. Um, focus, like we said, on one thing and just and go to an expert, get some advice. Um, I, you know, podcasts are great and and video conferences are great. But if you have a chance to go and actually do something live with a real person, um, you know, we can do video conferences, we can do seminars. But if you're in a live situation, you can actually ask questions, you can meet the person, you can really maybe glean more from that. Sometimes we don't have the money to do the other time. So I'm glad there's, you know, the media options. Um, but maybe this year you can say, you know what, I really want to go hear about this person. And so you arrange, okay, it's not till September, but okay, what can you do now, between now and then, to prep to go see this person on hiring techniques or evaluating your staff or whatever it is that you need to work on for this year. Yeah. So I like it. Yeah. So we're uh wow, we've we've covered now uh uh uh we come up to uh Romans and Romans five is an incredible chapter, uh Romans six, seven, but when we get to Romans eight, yeah, um, and uh let me just talk about the um uh Romans chapter seven. Um because uh the one I was telling Tim before we started today that one of my favorite classes in seminary was translating the book of Romans from the Greek to the English.

SPEAKER_03:

This is so cool.

SPEAKER_01:

It was really, really amazing. Um but I still remember my uh professor in that class, Leander Keck, who was just a phenomenal individual and an incredible scholar, very, very humble person. Um, he was talking about this passage, and I still remember that's been a few years, but it's a few decades, let's say. But I still remember it, and I'm gonna share it with those of you who are listening today. This might be something that uh would be beneficial to you. Romans chapter 7. Um, we read this in ver begin with verse 24 and 25. Paul says this wretched man that I am, who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. So he's talking about the struggle that each one of us have between doing good and not doing good and those kind of things. And wretched man that I'm who will deliver me from this body of death. And this is what uh Dr. Keck uh shared with us. In the Roman world, if you were uh convicted of murdering somebody, um there was one punishment that was worse than any punishment, and that was that they would actually take the body of the dead person that you murdered and strap that to your back. And so they would put a strap, uh like a metal strap around their chest to your chest. It's like giving them a piggyback ride, but you strap chest to chest, arm to arm, like thigh to thigh, leg to leg. And so your punishment was carrying the dead person around with you. And and so what happens with a dead body is that it begins to decay. And since you're touching it all the time, you can't get away from it, that decay goes into your body, and that is your punishment. It's very slow, agonizing death. Paul says that's what sin does to us. Okay, it it decays us from the inside. And so the only way we can be free of that, we can't free ourselves, just like those people couldn't free themselves because they were locked to this person, they couldn't cut themselves free, they couldn't free themselves. The only way we can be, as a person, be free from that. Um the the body of sin, which is death, is through Jesus Christ. And and so that's what Paul is saying. He lived that his own life. He's he didn't have that experience of having a dead body, but he felt like the weight of sin in his life was like that, and the only way he could free himself from that was through his relationship with Jesus Christ. And so then he goes on in chapter eight to talk about that fact that um the Spirit of God um is is um witnesses to our spirit, and so that God has adopted us as his kids. And um and so that that word has meant a lot of meaning um in our family because our son and his wife, um, our daughter-in-law Gracie, um adopted three kids. And and so when we were in the courtroom many years ago when that adoption was finalized, um, I still remember Judge Vega, he was a phenomenal individual. And um 19 days out of the month, he, you know, you have 20 days of work during the week, or you know, and uh 19 of them, he actually took kids away from their families one day a week. He would actually oversee adoptions. And um I'm thinking those were had to be a joyful days, and this was, and it's like, okay, it's not just they were not just adopting these amazing kids, they were actually uh changing their destinies. And and that's what Christ can do for us is change our destiny. And and so the question is for you as a leader, um, if you don't have a relationship with Christ, I I would love to talk to you about that. Uh reach out to us at biblical leadershipshow.com. But also think about if I'm the head of a company, how can I either perpetuate the destiny that we have or modify it so that we can do better at what we're doing? Um and so uh I told Tim before the show started, of all the chapters in the New Testament, I think chapter eight of the book of Romans is probably the most profound theological statement in the entire New Testament as far as theology and all that kind of stuff. So if you haven't read it lately, I just encourage you to just pick up chapter eight, book of Romans, chapter eight, and just read it and just meditate on it because it is so powerful about our relationship with Christ. And so, anyway, that's awesome. I'll leave it with that. And uh we gotta do some more dad jokes.

SPEAKER_03:

Dad jokes.

SPEAKER_01:

We gotta do some more dad jokes. Okay, I I got one. What okay? What kind of cows live in Alaska?

SPEAKER_00:

Cold ones. Yeah. How about Eskimoos?

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, all right. I'll give you that. Okay, why did the banana go to the doctor? I bet you've heard this one.

SPEAKER_03:

I've heard this one.

SPEAKER_00:

Because it wasn't peeling well.

SPEAKER_03:

Nice.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, why do I always get the drumbeat? Okay. Okay. Um, okay. Which part of the hospital is the worst hiding place. The ICU. What do you want?

SPEAKER_04:

How about that one?

SPEAKER_03:

I gotta add a gong. I'm gonna put that on my ears.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh. Okay, so just so you can't see this in the studio, but um, I have a dad joke calendar. And one of the things that my daughter gave me for Christmas is actually a coffee mug with a QR code, and you you scan the QR code every day and it gives you another dad joke. Yeah, that's I mean, how cool is that?

SPEAKER_03:

So cool.

SPEAKER_01:

And so the dad joke for the day from the coffee mug was what happens when a painter gets cold? Right. He puts on a second coat. In addition to that, um, my wife gave me a 2026 dad joke calendar.

SPEAKER_03:

Nice.

SPEAKER_01:

So I've got 300 and I've got a few left from 2025. So I've got about 400, maybe 500, because I've got some on my phone here, dad jokes just ready. But I'm always open to getting a good one.

SPEAKER_03:

We're always open to getting a good one, right? Yeah, and I've got I got two or three books, uh, so I I'm ready to go on the dad jokes as well. And uh I have to bring them there. I left them sitting at home, but uh I'm gonna get them. You're gonna get those and bring them back. Yeah, get them in the office here in the studio so we can uh have them next time. And and uh yeah, we are good to go on dad jokes.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay, so you know, I was talking about Greek. Um I took some Greek in uh college and seminary. And um, and but in my school days, I did pretty well on most subjects except Greek mythology. You could say that that class was my Achilles elbow. Okay, how do you make an angry friend super angry?

SPEAKER_03:

Uh, this one I don't know.

SPEAKER_01:

You put a cape on him.

SPEAKER_02:

Wow, let's just quit right there. We're good. Oh my gosh. Okay. We'll call it a day.
